One advantage of the old style pump is that I can tell whether the primary or secondary fuel filter is plugged.
If the plunger pulls up hard, the primary (INLINE) filter is plugged. If the plunger is hard to push, the secondary (CAN) filter is plugged. It the plunger goes hard both ways, both filters are plugged but I have never seen this happen.
I wish the 603 engines had a hand fuel pump.
