Not sure why yours would be different but on my '87 it comes out fine. Just a tight squeeze to get it out. If you are going to remove the intake, a good cleaning maybe in order to prevent more soot/sludge from clogging the lines again. I plan on installing an airsep to keep oil mist from entering the turbo and blowing more sludge into the intake.
