I can't advise, but will say, this depends upon design. Look at how the coil is in stalled. If there is a pig tail or some other design in the spring to keep it in place at one end or the other, cut the other end. Next look to see if the spring is 'indexed' or must maintain a relationship between the end of the coil top and bottom, this being the case, only full coils can be cut to maintain this relationship.

Having cut coils on many other non-benz vehicles, the above holds true in most cases. I need to replace dampers in the front of the W124 and am considering cutting coils to lower 'a bit'.
