Debris found in oil pan!

I can't believe this engine was running as well as it did with all of this in the pan! Most of the metal is Al. from the base of the 2 spray jets.

My repair path will be new oil pump, 2 new spray jets, check rods & mains, clean the oil cooler, updated windage tray, and put her back together. The piston skirt pieces are about 1/4 the size of a quarter. There are no visible signs of scoring/scratches in either cylinder.

Looking back, my first warning sign was in October of 2010. When I serviced the engine, upon start up, I did hear a metallic "clunk" on start up. I thought that was the timing chain slapping the tensioner/cover. That is when I first posted lower oil pressure at idle questions. I truly believe this condition existed before then, and has progressively gotten worse. The car has run every day from that service until now without any noises or other signs of problems except low oil pressure at idle.
