Check with your state first. If OH is anything like pa, It is a royal pain to get the car re registered after a "total loss" It took me about a month of paperwork to get a valid reg on mine after it was totalled.

Usually they have an adjuster look at the car and try to lowball you in my experience. Sometimes they settle fairly. There is no doubt in my mind I would mention that my neck and back seem sore if rear ended.
Not to launch an additional claim but to motivate a fair settlement from them as soon as possible. With the potential of a neck and back injury claim they will usually want out and you to sign a release as soon as possible. It is a large motavational factor in getting a fairer price from them. Once that release is signed they are pretty well home free and off any potential injury claim.
Tell them you want the car back after the offer of settlement dollars is made. Hopefully the people you will be dealing with are ethical but do not count on it. Sorry if I sound negative but my experience has not been good with claims until the last one.
That only occured because I increased their costs by at least ten thousand dollars when they lowballed me by five thousand and would not discuss a fair settlement. The car was easily worth 22 thousand and the offer was seventeen thousand.
They refused to budge so I went to work. Eventually taking them to court. The next car my wife wrote off they could not settle fast enough and offered more than it was worth.
You almost sounded like it is simply a case of sitting down with them and everything is reasonable. This does happen sometimes but to count on it is poor judgement in my opinion.
Insurance companies have earnt the lousy reputations many of them have over many decades. Keep us posted as to how your claim goes. We can sometimes as a group learn something in the process. Needless to say best of luck.

I plan to take my lawyer/grandpa so I plan on him taaking care of any of there bs.
Legitimately my neck does hurt so were good on the scare tactic.
The adjuster will be coming next week, and we will just have to wait and see what they decided on for a price. If it is ridiculous, they will be going to court with me.
