I am replacing all the seals on my SLS pump for the 190. I have the entire ting disassembled (what a PITA). The last thing that I cannot get off is the o-ring on the center piece in the pump. The ring has hardened tot he consistency of a rock. The other two that I have removed will break if I bend them. I guess after 24 years I should not be too surprised huh?

Anyway, the instructions that I received recommended I do not use any metal tools for messing with parts inside the pump as any scratches could cause leaks. I have some bamboo skewers which had so far proved useless. I tried very carefully to insert a razor between the metal and the o-ring to try and coax it out. The razor broke (I got the small piece out so no harm but now I am scared.

The o-ring is the black band near the top of the cylinder. Any ideas how to get it off? Not really keen on heat as I don't want to warp anything (very tight fit back into the housing). I had thought about acetone or something like that to melt it but will that etch the metal?
