Actually no, the terrain is a pretty easy uphill trek that follows the Carbon river, which, btw, is glacier fed The road turns to gravel about 7 miles up (about 2 miles from where the pix above is taken). I use a heart rate monitor to make sure my heart is under 150 bpm. Here is another, taken on the way back down:
