Go buy a 300SD and put your 240D badge on it.

In all honesty, adjusting the linkage and valves is huge for performance. Other than that, having a rebuilt drivers seat and good suspension makes driving a 240D much more enjoyable. If you're going to move slowly, it should be in comfort.
