When I got my first Mercedes, a 1979 300sd, I posed the same question on the old email list I was on at the time. Sort of buyer's chilly feet I guess.
I was astounded at the responses I got, not only from the South and the West, where the climate would be favorable to begin with, but from people in the midwest and up and down the east coast who were braving the winter elements and doing major driving while doing it.
I was mightily impressed and continue to be. Which is a good thing, as every other person I know thinks I'm off my nut for bothering with these old cars.
