The body shop called yesterday afternoon, so I had a chance to see where they were with the repair this morning...new 1/4 panel is welded in nicely and prepped for paint, the rear and front floor pans are going to be welded in and weather-proofed, we marked off which soft-goods I'll pay for and we reminded each other which go to the insurance company due to them having to be removed to effect the repair from the original claim...as tempting as it was to "dump" it on the guy's company, I wouldn't feel right about any of it if I pulled that stunt. Yah, I know...I'm being deprived of driving my car...but hey, I'm just happy to be able to drive it at all. Besides, padding a claim is just as bad as committing fraud, so why even chance it? As it is, the shop is keeping my car inside 24/7, so I'm getting better treatment than most folks. In about 2 weeks, I'll have her on the road again and running premium through her veins and heart...and enjoying every revolution of that engine...
