If you look at the installation, the deep part is below the hood line facing forward allowing hot engine bay air to be extracted.
The fin or blade portion is angled up and toward the rear.
Similar to what Porsche, BMW uses...

Ah, I see. I think I was just looking at them wrong, hard to tell which way was front/back/L/R with the closeups of the hood off the car. I do like them though, looks like it was a lot of work to get them in there.
