Curious about the pad size.

The larger rotors will take longer to get to the temperature where braking performance is reduced. And because of larger surface area can dissipate the heat a lot better as well. That is really the only reason to go larger rotors. Assuming operating temps are within limits, the real restriction in braking performance is determined by the quality and grip of the tyres.
