I made two trips in past winters to the DC area, from here in Indianapolis. The W123 85 Turbo did a great and very comfortable job. I didn't or need AC, and the heater was very good. Mileage was good, the seat comfy and it ran along on the interstate very well. The mountains of Pennsylvania and Maryland were no problem to that good old car. My biggest concern was with the automatic transmission, but that also, did a great job. Last summer I drove my 300E 5 speed to Toronto. It was mid June, and the trip up was cool. and without AC it was very pleasant. I returned before the weekend, actually a year ago today, and it was very warm. But it is a delightful car to drive, warm but very easy to live without AC. I love those outdoor smells, most of them, but the noise on the Interstate without AC is really hard to live with.
