My 240D is 29 years old and has around 240,000 miles. I drive it from Maine to DC and back at least once a month and I have never had a breakdown. I've been doing this for three years now. I also drove my 73 220D with 800,000 miles from New York to San Fransisco and back with just one glow plug failure. I have full faith in these older diesels!
