I routinely drive the 240D from NYC down to rural Virginia to see family -- it's about a 6-700 mi round trip. So far, nothing bad has happened (other than a speeding ticket in NJ, NJ cops lurve cars with NY registration ), and I honestly wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country if it came down to it.
