I have an 1984 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3. The electric sliding roof won't open. When you press the button, the motor makes noise, but the roof doesn't budge. But if you open it with the manual crank in the trunk, and get it to a certain spot and push the button, it moves about an inch but stops and hums again. I was wondering what could be wrong, and how do you go about getting at the cable etc. Do you remove the steel sliding roof? Please if you can let me know. Thanks a lot
