Follow-up:

Hi,

Here's the latest. Went to Midwest electronics today to get the rest of the installation hardware for the Blau Alaska. (I have a 6 speaker set-up -- Activ bass.)

Needed a trim ring, mounting sleeve, antenna lead adapter, mounting clips and some screws. Brett was a big help on the extra items that I needed but did not know about.

Spent the afternoon wiring power and front speakers.

Some remaining questions:

1) The antenna lead is missing. No wire in site. I've read about an extension cable coming from somewhere. The lead must have been pulled out and broken during the theft.

Anyone have any ideas on where I find a replacement. FYI: The antenna itself works in terms of getting power and going up and down.

2)Next problem is wiring the rear speakers.

The Florida was wired using the fader connected to the rear speakers. To keep things simple, I plan on doing the same. However, the wiring diagrams from MB show a brown/green or brown/grey depending on the channel. The wires are two separate wires combined into one case (Like lamp cord).

Do I connect the Right Rear positive lead from the Blau into both wires? The confusion comes from MB using brown as the color code for ground.

3) Figured out the alarm switch that used to attached to the old Becker. Would like to use this feature and attach the wire to my new radio. Should I cut off the Becker connector and attach the wire to the rear of the radio?

4) Is it worth having the amp in the trunk power the door speakers and the amp in the Blau drive the rear speakers? If so, any suggestion for wiring?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hunter
