i just rebuilt the whole front end on my '85 300TD. when i asked the local independent shop about an alignment, they said, without hesitation, to take it to the dealer because they have had not good success with local alignment places. i had never been to the MB dealer here before, but they were nothing but friendly and had no problems working on my car (or taking my money!). i feel it was worth the expense and mental satisfaction to have it done by someone who knows what they are doing, rather than chancing it with someone who "might" get it right.
