M D Nugent,
I do not have any direct exp. with putting a flowmaster on a MB car. But based on what I know with American V6's and V8's I would agree with you on,
1) eliminate the center muffler, keeping it would defeat the purpose of putting an aftermarket muffler on
2) since the muffler is all the way in the back of the MB and it is insulated well, "drone" should not be too bad, even with a flowmaster.
SOme people like the "drone" sound but it wears on you if you are just doing 75 on the highway with your engine turning at 3800 rpm. If I was going to go with an aftermarket muffler I would go with an walker SS ultraflow. It will make a nice deep powerful note without being "loud"
Hope that helps
Dan
