Just when things were going brilliantly. Granny had a fall a week ago on Monday night. She refused to go to the hospital, so my mom and I kept close watch on her. She's hanging in there, able to walk and all, and she did eventually relent and allow us to have her checked out for permanent damage. Thankfully other than a wicked goose egg on the back of her noggin she's alright. My Grams is a tough old bird and I love her. She's even going to try to stop smoking cigarettes!! This is a big thing as she's been smoking since '48.
My heart goes out to the folks in KY, IN, Al, etc who suffered from the round of Tornado outbreaks. Other than spending a tremendous amount of time watching the weather channel we thankfully weren't harmed here in East TN.
Here's my current To Do list...
-Project Super Diesel, the engine swap and preformance upgrades for the SD.
-Succesfully troubleshoot Wilmas fuel system so Internal Combustion may once again occur. A Bosch book by Ben Watson recommended by Mercmad6.3 is on it's way to help me out.
-overhaul the entire hydraulic component of Kim the finnys brakes. Master cyl, booster, all hard lines, rubber lines, etc. Yay for tube bending. Ugh
-various small jobs on the 300D
-various small jobs on Mert the 280. A note here. If you're ever in the position to buy a car from forum member WolfWalker (zen, and the art of diesel) DO IT! I bought Mert a year ago from Rex and I have to say this /8 is the nicest car vie ever bought from anyone anywhere ever. Mert is actually my favorite car!
-take some photos of the CArmada when possible; ie after the 280S w116 gets here.
The truck is now a very fast mover, expect evidence of the smoke soon. Interestingly though from a standing start the Bertha the E550 positively emasculated my demon truck. It will be great fun to see how Herb the Ford compares to mum's beloved E Cabriolet this summer on the drag strip.
