I've seen 617's in S10 trucks and the biggest problem is the interference between the oil filter housing and the brake booster. On this particular vehicle, the filter was tucked so far back that you couldn't even open it to change the element.

It would probably be easier on the Camaro since it has a longer engine bay designed for the 250-6. You'll also have to convert to a hydraulic clutch most likely.
