The biggest problem I see right off the bat, is the Chevys have a rear sump.



Which puts the 617 sump about right in the middle of the crossmember and steering gear.



It's not really feasible to try to go with a rear sump because of the way the 617 oil pump is configured, i.e. you can't just move the pickup.

I saw one conversion where they took everything out and went with a Mustang subframe with rack and pinion ahead of the engine. The 107s use a subframe so it might be possible to drop one of those in. But then you're talking about adapting dissimilar steering gear and all that.

Not saying it can't be done, but it would be a whole bunch of work and engineering to make it happen.
