The problem I see with adhesives is that they easily tend to leak out and become visible as dried glue outside of the wood trim.

I replaced a few dash pieces with some double-sided carpet tape that I trimmed to fit. So far so good and if I want to do something different and permanent in the future, I can easily remove.
