FYI.

Be careful with charging on these late model vehicles. Always charge the battery with Battery Ground disconnected. Messing around in the battery area can cause the ballistic battery disconnect squib to fire ( If fitted.).

On 2000 up the battery monitor in the trunk can be faulty and the secondary battery will set a code...(.for those vehicles with small secondary battery under the cabin air filter. eg: 2000 up e350.)

A low voltage will cause havoc with the on board modules and not unusual for a module or two to take a dump from constant low voltage episodes.

Modules will go to 'sleep' after 90 seconds or so. Close the door and wait until mileage cluster goes blank to see if system is 'sleeping' Any faulty module in the can/bus network can keep the other modules awake and drain the battery over night.

To check the 'sleep' draw you need a Low Amp Probe and look for less than 30mAmps.
An ideal reading will be around 20mAmps. Have installed more than enough modules and clusters because someone charged/boosted the battery...Don't boost battery on the vehicle. replace battery or charge with ground disconnected.

BTW...Beckmann Tech advised me the day/nigh condensation build up in the cluster area ( connection pins and sockets...) can cause a fault in the cluster causing it to keep everything awake.
