Knew about the christian thing, and figured you had probably read Genesis. Any one who has, and believes the bible, should logically determine that the laws prohibiting marijuana are in direct conflict with the teachings of the bible.
Not sure why the christians don't have the same kind of problem with this infringement on their beliefs when they go so completely rabid over others.
As spud commented, maryjane does not have to be smoked. And it doesn't even have to be a variety that gets you high. It can be used for paper, clothing, plastics, fuel oil...the list is very long. Bottom line, the hemp plant in all it's forms should be legal. (How anyone ever outlawed a plant is beyond me

)
In the past, hemp was actually a required crop of US farmers, you could be jailed for not growing your quota... how's that for an about face??

It was also considered legal tender, and one could pay their taxes with it.
