I cannot imagine how.

Your fuel delivery is governed by mechanical linkages to the injection pump. Fuel augmentation for the turbo is prompted by a pressure line from the manifold over to the ALDA on the pump. Pressure, not vacuum, as this is a diesel.

Did you recently do any work under the hood that could have disturbed or damaged any of the vacuum lines, connectors or the plastic line running into the ALDA?
