I thought I changed my coolant six months ago

I just put in a new vacuum pump on my 603 and when I removed the upper radiator hose, green coolant flowed (probably about 0.5l).

This surprised me, because I (thought that I) flushed all the green stuff out six months ago when I bought the car. (I didn't remove or check the thermostat).

At that time, I flushed the radiator and block a few times with water and put in around 2 gal of orange MB coolant .

Since then, everything seemed fine- never goes higher than 85C on the thermometer, and have driven about 10k miles. The head and the radiator are new, so I would that thought that the thermostat was new also, but I didn't check.

Can anyone tell me what the green coolant was doing in the upper pipe of the radiator? Is this something that I should be worried about?

thanks
