A little oddity about fan 60x fan clutch

I was approached by a local Houston guy who got info through this board to remove and refill his car's fan clutch to make it working again. The guy has an E300D in pretty shabby state and is between jobs (hence shoestring budget)

anyway - when I removed the fan it was using a BEHR clutch with part no 603 200 00 22 on the BMS along with MB star on it and a date roundel of 04. no star on the clutch aluminum itself. The fan was a 606 part black in color.

After refilling it and put back - the fan is grabbed hard by the clutch as compared to the soft engagement of the 606 fan clutch, I beleive the original 603 metal fan puts up some resistance for the clutch while the plastic one does not. I believe that is why the turbo 606 clutches are different too as they are moving an 11 blade fan.
