I tried to find it in the on line manual. Model 107

I did not find how to remove the shift surround there.

Remove ash tray
Remove 2 screws holding the ash tray mount. Pull mount out starting on the right side then disconnected wires to the mount on the left.
Remove 2 screws at the front of the console wood.

This is where it gets a little tricky. Pull back on the wood piece and the rear view mirror should pop up in the front. Remove the switch and unplug. Do not pull up on the wood. There is a plastic pin that can be broken/detached.

The rest will be evident.
