Need Help on Soundproofing

Sound Insulation Question

I installed a stereo system in my 400E; I've used dynamat on various areas of the car to dampen the metal noise vibration. I would like to greatly reduce the road noise, I've read the forum comments about noise reduction, but I need a little more specific info and help. It seems the doors are an area were a good amount of road noise enters, the doors panels fit so tight, what noise absorbing material can I use under the door panels? Also on the interior floor, how thick of material can I use so the carpet will fit back into place neatly? And an another big question is there a improvement by adding noise-absorbing material to the roof area? I know there are various material for noise reduction, and I have limited knowledge about what type of material to use, is jute as good as the foam with rubber backing, is it best to use the self adhesive products? I notice several people have reduced there interior noise considerably with the application of soundproofing materials, which required a lot of work and knowledge, I will greatly appreciate all your help and advice.

Happy Holidays, timreid
