I presently have the most expensive tires I've ever purchased on my W210, Goodyear ComforTreds (not the high-mileage variants, the regular ones). They are touring tires (I didn't want a performance tire anyway) and I picked them because they were the best-rated tire for noise and well rated in the other areas that were of import to me. They were slightly less than some Michelins, but out the door with mounting and balancing it was more than $200 a tire.

That said, I'm 20,000 miles into them and have nary a complaint. They are smooth and quiet, stick well and are only now beginning to show signs of wear. I spent a long time selecting them and this is one time where I'm glad I didn't fret that much about the money; I just spent it and have zero buyer's remorse.

Good luck with the Kooky Optimos.
