It occurs to me that much of my anti-democrat bile comes from living in a democrat-controlled State. I recognize that for some of you, the situation is reversed--you live in Republican- controlled States and see the corruption that results. It just demonstrates that one party control---ANY one party control is essentially corrupt. We need competition at all levels.
Competition for money, competition of ideas, balance across the legal system that is supposed to protect the rights of the minorities ( races, as well as political parties), and a free press holding all politicians accountable for their actions are the elements required for the democrat republic to function.
