I had the same problems with my 79 450 SLC with 2 engines, it turned out to be the Accumulator. This problem about drove me and my mechanic nuts. See my trials and tribulations on several of my posts. I would sure look into this as a most probable problem. In one of my posts a reply told how to test this unit very simply. Hope this helps. Lee
