It is dark (and cold) here right now. As my car is on my property away from heat and light, I will save tinkering for tomorrow. I will consider everyone's replies and try to test as much as possible on this and post back. Thanks so much. I was really getting discouraged yesterday. I felt like I had no way out (except a new IP, which I hear isn't cheap). Now, I'm thinking this could all be solved by a little more diagnostic work and replacing a (hopefully) much cheaper part.
