I've been distracted from the MBZ scene for a little while -- a 1941 Buick straight-8 has been the object of my recent mechanical efforts -- but on the way in to work this morning, my '76 w115 300D brake pedal started feeling intermittently mooshy. I thought, "It's time to check with Phil on a new master cylinder..."

My heart sank when I pulled up peachparts.com just now and saw the sad news. Phil genuinely made you feel like you were his only customer and he would carefully talk with you about which parts were the good ones at the best value. He didn't know me from Adam, but every time I called to get the scoop on a difficult part, I hung up smiling like I had just talked to a good friend.

I will donate for his memorial after I sleep on this tonight. EDIT: I liked 300sdToronto's idea and did the same; that's a good place for us to start.

Take care, you guys. I am so sorry.
