There is light "nailing" at idle to about 950 rpm. The car runs excellent in my opinion, but I've never driven another E300 turbo. With 200k I imagine that a rebuild would only be beneficial.

You will have to search a local diesel shop, I got lucky with one 5 miles away.
My glow plugs set me back over $800 at the Indie.

I thought the diesel giant had them, I could be very wrong. My plugs cost $200 in parts (plugs, gasket, reamer). $800 for a indie shop to do them seems reasonable to me. It took me 7 hours to work 3 very tight plugs! Gaining access only takes 15 mins.
