Have him remove the B2 and look. I guarantee you the B2 piston is broken. When I bought my 722.3xx transmission from a forum member and installed it on my SDL, it wouldn't move forward at all but moved on reverse. I sourced a B2 and sure enough, when I removed the B2, it was broken in pieces. Replaced it with the new B2, BINGO Problem solved. My SDL shifts and drives like a champ.
Please check it first before throwing your $$$.
