Brought home another W115, a 1976 240D 4-Speed Pics!

Ever since i sold my old W115, 1976 300D, i really missed the character that the old W115's have. I had been on the look for a decent W115 with minimal rust when i found this vehicle, it was in Rockledge, Fl sitting in a older gentleman's garage, where it had sat for over a year.

Supposedly the starter motor had went south and it was going to cost him 500 dollars to repair so he parked it in the garage. Lucky me!

I packed up the 85 300D with loads of tools and spare starter that i had laying on the self and travled about 2.5 hours south of me to look at the W115.

I installed the starter, pulled the gorilla knob and let it glow and it fired right up. Bought it on the spot and drove it home without any trouble at all.

It some small rust issues nothing to major, and the floor pans are pretty decent. AC will work with a charge of freon.

Engine runs awesome, little to no smoke runs extremely smooth and quiet.

Here is the downside, the front end is worn out badly, so i have ordered everything to completely rebuild the front subframe. I just put the car up on stands to start he work today. Hopefully get the subframe out by the weekend and start disassembly.

I already replaced the stock 14" hubcaps with 15" Ronal Pentas, i really like the look of them on the W115.

Keep watch on this thread, i will continue to post pics as i progress through my mini resto of the car.
