Sure seems like a lot of money. I was looking at a nice daily driver quality '92 500E in, oh, about 2003 or 2004. About 50K miles, 2 owners, full records, Texas car. About $22K as I recall. I didn't like the color combo (smoke silver over black) so waffled a bit and it sold out from under me. It's hard to imagine a production 4 door saloon car appreciating, even one as interesting as the 124.036.
