I have been using Straight Talk for a long time, couple years now. I bought a certain Nokia phone that according to the internet was really an AT&T phone with an AT&T sim card. The idea was to buy the phone and swap the sim card into an iPhone.

It worked.

Ever since then I have been using my AT&T iPhone with Straight Talk. It uses all the AT&T towers and data. Full speed data too. There has been zero difference between being on the real AT&T and via ST. The ONLY exception being no visual voicemail and, as mentioned, directory service (411) SUCKS.

Otherwise I have happy. ST uses several carriers for service. Now you can just buy a sim card for $15 via the ST site and "bring your own phone". If you tell them you have an AT&T iPhone, you will get an AT&T sim card (it will actually say AT&T on the card!).
