If your W116 is a 75 or earlier, the engines are almost identical. Later CIS cars had hydraulic lifters and a different fuel injection system.

I'm surprised that you can't pickup R12 in Mexico?
I just got the car. I'm picking it up in Orlando next week and will drive it down.
The car is a 77 only 67,000 miles ... Only AC is low on coolant.

* I guess, Its not that important I think the weather is not that hot yet and windows down will do.
