I have been writing it like this "Fuel Supply/Lift Pump" in hopes those who don't know will realize there is a Fuel Supply Pump as well as a Fuel Injection Pump.
Lift Pump is kind of Jargon phrase; Fuel Supply Pump is more descriptive.
So the Fuel Supply Pump bolts onto the side of the Fuel Injection Pump.
What is confusing is that many Fuel Injections Pumps have the Fuel Supply/Lift Pump built inside of them as do the VW Rabbit/Jetta type Fuel Injection Pumps and the Standyne ones used on the GM Diesel and Ford Pick Up Trucks.
After 18 years as a Mechanic the Mercedes Forums are the first Place I have read where the Fuel Injection Lines are called Hard Lines; but since you Guys use that term I have to.
