Cool

driving home from work today, my 300sd began acting sort of like the primary fuel filter was clogged. i limped the rest of the way home and after dinner got to work on the ol' gal. since i have a glass primary fuel filter, i could see that it wasn't fully clogged yet. hmmm. well, anyway, i look down in the area behind the driver side headlight and notice a random E-clip tucked under wire bundles. i pick it up and place it aside thinking i might need that some day. ha. a few seconds later, i look up and notice the throttle linkage looks a bit funny. it was coming apart because it was missing a E-clip. talk about some crazy luck, the E-clip i just found was the correct size. NO, there is absolutely no way the E-clip could have fallen off and ended up where i found this one. total luck all the way around, since all the hardware stores in my area had already closed for the evening.

while i was messing with the linkages, i found that while the go pedal was to the floor, the ip throttle wasn't max throttle. adjusted it and went for a test drive. yummy more acceleration.

tldr: got lucky with throttle linkage failure and subsequent repair and adjustment.
