Okay I managed to get the old bulb base out and replaced with a new LED bulb. I also ordered the rubber gaskets from the Classic Center and a some more questions. The new brake light LED makes a real difference in illumination.

1. The old seals have crumbled into dust and there are some remains stuck on the lens. Do the seals attached to the lens or the biulb holder.

2. I want to clean out the inside reflector part of the bulb holder but need to detach the two wire connectors. How these come off. I tried pulling and then pushing them up, am I missing something.
