We had our one 300SD's back glass replaced by Safelite. I believe the glass to have been of decent quality. The installation was not as great as I would have wanted. Its in, and sealed but the chrome trim is not seated as nicely as the factory. It was $350 all said and done.

It has the tiny heater element wires in it as opposed other replacements that just have a small number of large element lines.

I dont believe MB used double pane glass in these cars. Double pane in the 140 chassis yes. The previous chassis used laminated glass for sure.
