Goodness. That's a whole lot of prejudice right there.
Absolutely none of the reasons you assert caused me to become a lawyer, and the same may be said of the colleagues and classmates I knew best. Yes, there were a few who were doing nothing but chasing ambulances and the money they represented, but they were a distinct minority.
That said, I hope you never find yourself in need of a lawyer. With your level of prejudice and distrust, you'd be a horrible client.
