Actually I have neither. My lift pump is the older style, with the external primer, it works just fine though.
I took a look at the pressure relief spring, it was a hair under 20mm. She needs stretchin a tad. That may be part of me problem.... I will still at least rebuild the lift pump, and install some motor mounts-its a great time to do it. Also some spring cleaning around it.
I still think there is more to it than that little spring...... A thought just hit me. When the car would clog it self a while back, the primer handle would not return...Once everything was clear-all was ok. Is that normal?

Okay I found it....you have the old old old style....I forget the w115 240d and 300d injection pumps differ a lot....I have no idea on that one at all....here's a picture so others know
