Resurrecting an old thread.

I am repairing and refinishing floor pans on 85 300D. The cables and vacuum tubes that traverse the floor pans are protected by inverted u-shaped black plastic covers. These covers are held down by cable ties (MB call them looms). The cable ties have an integral attachment pint that slides onto small chrome or S/S rivets or ?? that stick up through the floor pans.

My cable ties are mostly broken. I found a part number A0039975190. It may be possible to order these, but not sure that is what I want to do. Some of the "rivets" are loose so it might be better to pull them out and seal the holes.

Has anyone come up with a good alternative to these cable looms?

One thought is to tape them down with HD aluminum tape.
