Sounds like something similar to what one of Texas past scumbag governors, Ann Richards did. Ca. 1990 or so, the Texas congress put forth a bill to provide a referendum that would allow Texas voters to decide whether or not to have a CCW law.

The silver haired witch(spelled with a B) would not allow it to go to the voters for a decision. Not only did this fly in the face of right to bear arms, it DENIED the voting public the opportunity to decide.

The hypocracy on her part was that as Governor she could legally carry a firearm and DID. Same kind of hypocracy as that other witch, Diane Frankenstein.
