No, the government wouldn't let them drill for free. That means there is tax revenue that, if we had honest politicians, could be put toward the national debt. The fact that there is not enough oil on private land to take care of our needs. Drilling on some identified, small areas on public land could produce adequate oil for independence from the ME.

In addition it would produce MANY jobs. Does everyone recognize the need for more jobs at this point?

Why is this not obvious to everyone reading this thread?
